Barn's Burnt Down - Now I Can See The Moon

This is an ancient zen saying that I came across while I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The exterior barn was made by assembling thin strips of either needlepoint, french knots or woven beads. The windows and doors are bake-able clay.

When the barn doors are open, you can see the night sky which I knit on a knitting machine. The moon is beaded as is the saying, the walls are needlepointed and the barn door is made of wood sticks. The animals are bake-able clay.

I attached a wooden box to the back of the piece to keep it upright when closed but also to carry the animals.

This piece took a lot of planning and was really fun.
